BIOGRAPHY
Josh Duhamel was born on the 14th of November 1972 in Minot, North Dakota. Duhamel had other ambitions than acting, while he was still studying at Minot State University studied biology with the intention of going to dental school after getting his degree but because of a few credit issues, he ended up dropping out. At 26, he got into some construction work .
It was only by luck that he was scouted in San Francisco to be a model which brought him into the entertainment world and got him a few commercial parts. Modeling eventually was transformed into acting when he was offered to audition for the title character in The Picture of Dorian Gray (2004). He got the part, and even though the movie didn't become a big hit at the box office, Josh got into the real business where he landed a role as the lead star in the daytime soap, "All My Children". Josh had to move to New York City as the show was being shot there. He played Leo DuPress in the award-winning show from 1999-2002.
Later he moved to Los Angeles and that is when he got his major role in Win A Date With Tad Hamilton' as one of the main characters. Not long after in 2003, he landed a role in the show Las Vegas, which he most known for his role on the show as Danny McCoy. While stepping into the acting career, he cancelled his wedding to Kristy Pierce who he had a relationship with for 5 years. The next year in 2003, he was introduced to his new fiance, Stacy Ferguson, better known as Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas who had a guest-star role on Las Vegas.
As he wanted, 2006 has been his year to move onto the big screen once more by taking the main role in Turistas. Duhamel should have plenty more to come not only on Las Vegas but more big screen movies like the 2007 to come Transformers.
In 2004, Duhamel was voted as the top 50 hottest men, 2007 he still remains in that section!
Duhamel reprised the role for the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, released in June 2009, and again in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, due for release in July 2011.
Duhamel was the official pace car driver for the 2009 Indianapolis 500 driving the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car.
Duhamel will star alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the Boaz Yakin thriller film Sympathy for the Devil. He also appeared in The Romantics in 2010, alongside Katie Holmes, Adam Brody, and Australian actress Annabel-Jane Brooks.
CAREER
Duhamel began his acting career as an extra in the music videos for Donna Summer's song, "I Will Go With You (Con te partiro)" in 1998 and Christina Aguilera's song, "What a Girl Wants" in 1999. Later that year, he won the role of Leo du Pres on the ABC soap opera All My Children. His work on the show, especially his character's pairing with Greenlee Smythe (portrayed by actor Rebecca Budig), garnered critical acclaim. In 2000, he posed fully nude for Greg Gorman's "As I See It" photography book. In 2003, he earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for the Special Fan Award for America's Favorite Couple in 2002, shared with Budig, and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Leo du Pres. Duhamel opted to leave All My Children in 2002 to pursue other acting opportunities.
In 2003, Duhamel landed a prime time role on the NBC show Las Vegas, playing the head of security as Danny McCoy for the Montecito Casino. He succeeded James Caan as president of the Montecito after Caan departed at the end of the fourth season. The series was cancelled in 2008.
Duhamel made his big-screen acting debut in 2004's Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! and continued on to star in the thriller Turistas (2006). After watching an episode of Las Vegas in which Duhamel's character had just returned from the war in Iraq, Steven Spielberg handpicked him for the role of Captain William Lennox in 2007's summer blockbuster film Transformers (a film for which Spielberg was the executive producer). Duhamel reprised the role for the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, released in June 2009, and again in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, due for release in July 2011.
