BIOGRAPHY

Kim Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 21, 1980. Her father is the late Robert Kardashian, who was one of O.J. Simpson's many defense attorneys during his 1995 murder trial. Kim grew up in Beverly Hills, California, and attended an exclusive all-girls Catholic high school. Her first job was working for her father’s music marketing firm, Movie Tunes. Not just a pretty face, Kim went on to become an in-demand wardrobe stylist for television programs, photo layouts and infomercials. The large-bottomed beauty infiltrated the Hollywood gossip circles through her friendship with fellow socialite Paris Hilton. Just like Paris, Kim’s popularity soared with the release of a sex tape, Kim Kardashian Superstar, featuring her bedroom exploits with rapper Ray J, the brother of R&B singer Brandy. Continuing to follow in her friend’s footsteps, Kim launched her own reality show on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which features Kim, her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian as well as her mom Kris Jenner and extended family, including step dad Bruce Jenner and Hills star Brody Jenner. Paris made movies, so the next step for Kim, obviously, is the big screen. Judging by the popularity of her website and series, this curvy personality isn't about to butt out of the limelight.

CAREER

Her first acting role was in the television series Beyond the Break. She then starred in the 2008 disaster film spoof Disaster Movie as Lisa. Kardashian appeared in the How I Met Your Mother episode "Benefits". She will appear on the Season 3 premiere of the series 90210 with her sisters Khloé and Kourtney. They will play themselves. According to E! Kim makes $5.545 million a year.

As a Model

Kardashian posed nude for the December 2007 issue of Playboy. She has also featured in numerous international editions of FHM, including the cover of the April 2010 Australian edition . In February 2008, Bongo Jeans announced that Kardashian would be their face model. Kardashian is also a model for Travis Barker's Famous Stars and Straps clothing line. She also models for Quick Trim weight loss supplements, Balenciaga shoes, Carl's Jr. fast food, Sugar Factory lollipops, Perfect Skin skincare products, and various products.

As a Producer

Kardashian is the producer of SPINdustry, a reality television show about Command PR, a New York City public relations firm, run by Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck. The show follows them as they settle into their new offices in Los Angeles. Kardashian is friends with both, specifically Jonathan, and frequently appears on the show.

As a Writter

Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé are writing an autobiography entitled Kardashian Konfidential. The book will be "full of fun facts about their childhood, their beauty and style secrets, the wisdom they learned from their beloved father, and the street smarts they got from their mother that sustain them in life and in business.” The book will be released in stores on November 23, 2010.

SOCIAL WORK

On April 1, 2010, Kim Kardashian joined Cyndi Lauper in the launch of her Give a Damn campaign to create a wider awareness of discrimination against the GLBT community as part of her True Colors Fund. The campaign is to bring straight people to stand up with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered community and stop the discrimination. Other names included in the campaign are Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Mraz, Elton John, Judith Light, Cynthia Nixon, Clay Aiken, Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.
However, she has also been on the receiving end of activism. Animal rights organization PETA has criticized her for repeatedly wearing fur coats, and named her as one of the five worst people or organizations of 2010 when it came to animal welfare.
